Follow the map directions to get there, you will go down a gravel road past a doggie day care, a church, an upholstery shop, then go all the way to the end of the road and turn left through a black metal gate. Go slow and follow the road, accessible parking will be at the top of the hill. It is a gravel parking lot, but there is a paved concrete ramp leading down to the dock area.

There will be ski slots assigned throughout the day and a break for lunch. Please arrive 30 min before your scheduled start time.

Wear or bring your swim suit, a towel and warm dry clothes for afterwards. Some people like to wear water shoes or scuba booties, but skiing can be done barefoot. 
Wheelchair users may wish to cover their seat cushions with a garbage bag, or waterproof pad to keep their cushion dry.
Dress for the weather and bring a hat and sunscreen as there will be limited shade on the dock.

WSWC membership is required in order to ski!

Life jackets, gloves and adaptive ski equipment will be provided.

Upon arrival you will be greeted and asked about previous ski or adaptive sport experience, this will help determine ski type and set up.
From there you will get a life jacket, and gloves, and will go over some dryland training on the dock. From there you will transfer into the sit-ski on the dock, and from there lowered into the water. You will practice your balance floating in the water, but will have a side-skier on each side of you, as well as a person to stabilize behind you. Once stabilized and comfortable in the water, you will hold onto the rope handle and once the rope has tightened, you tell the boat to "hit it" and this is the signal for the boat to pull you out of the water. This can be the trickiest part, but once out of the water, you can go back and forth up and down the lake, with the side skiers to help navigate going around corners. When ready to come back to the dock, the boat will drive near the dock to allow the skiers to ski in and let go of the rope. From there the skier can use their arms to push down on the ski cage and release themselves into the water. The skier will be supported every step of the way, and we can't wait to bring the joy and freedom of waterskiing to all! 

We will be having a BBQ lunch from noon-1pm, but there will be snacks and drinks available throughout the day. 

A 2026 WSWC Membership is required to ski!

Please show up 30min prior to your ski slot to avoid delays and maximize ski time. But feel free to come early and stay later to watch and meet other skiiers!

A WSWA form will be sent via email, your ski slot is not secured until this form is completed as well.

In the event of inclement weather the event will be cancelled, and participants will be notified.  

There will be an accessible port-a-potty on site at the top of the hill in the parking lot, generously donated by Dumpco in Lacombe for the day! 

These events are impossible without the help of the many volunteers!

There will be an on-site photographer taking photos during your ski and during off water moments too.
